[ARCHIVED] Christmas Parade/Event Road closures

In preparation for Tavares Christmas Parade and Celebration 

Saturday, December 4 @ 3:00 am the City will close the Wooton Parking lot, close Main Street & Rockingham Ave, close public parking lots along with Ruby / Rockingham, and two lots off New Hampshire, barricades will be set in front of Chamber parking lot for crowd safety, signs have already been placed along the affected downtown streets. The Christmas Parade starts at 5:30 PM Saturday. The parade route begins going east on Ruby Street to St. Clair Abrams Ave. The parade route turns north and continues west on Main Street to the roundabout. At 7 PM Barricades will be removed to allow traffic to flow normally. The barricades closing off Ruby Street and Rockingham will remain until the conclusion of the event at approximately 9 PM

5:30 pm Parade Start

6:30 pm – 9:00 pm Following Activities Commence (Ongoing):

  • “Santa Letters”
  • Big Red Bus
  • THS & TMS bands
  • Interactive DJ in Tavares Square
  • LC Swing Band in Wooton
  • Living Angels Statue performances

6:00 pm – 7:30 pm Showing of the movie: “Grinch Who Stole Christmas”

7:00 pm* Approx. Santa arrives in Tavares Square for fireworks

7:15 pm – 9:00 pm LC Swing Band performance on event pad

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm Interactive DJ and Santa visits in square

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm Showing of the movie: “Grinch Who Stole Christmas”

9:00 pm* Approx. Fireworks shoot just as Santa leaves

9:00 pm* Approx. All activities end
