The Streets Management Division is a division of one Manager and one staff member who are responsible for the maintenance of over 65 miles of streets, 107 miles of sidewalks, 1,000 street sign assemblies, 17 signalized intersections, 4 school flashers and 1,400+ street lights. Additional responsibilities include assisting in tree and right-of-way maintenance and roadway debris maintenance. The division is dependent upon other departments to provide staff as available. Their commitment to public service ensures an efficient, friendly, cost-effective means of improving the quality of life for all in Tavares.
The City of Tavares requires a Right-of-Way Permit for any work performed within or affecting the City’s rights-of-way. This work includes, but is not limited to construction, access to and/or special use of the right-of-way for such purposes as:
Driveway addition or modification
Exterior building work that blocks part of a City street or sidewalk
