Marina, Fuel Dock, Transient Dock

Lake Dora and the marina are premier destinations and located in the Downtown Waterfront Entertainment District where you can find art, history, hotels, and restaurants.

(May 19th, 2021) The Tavares Seaplane Base/Marina re-build project is now substantially complete! The re-build project was funded by an insurance settlement after the Marina was destroyed by Hurricane Irma. All inspections have been passed and the contractor is in the process of completing punch list items, clean up, and demobilizing. A “soft opening” has commenced with the fuel dock, transient dock, and seaplane ramp/apron being open to the public as of this past weekend. Staff is filling the new Marina slips with tenants per the leasing policy approved on May 5th by Tavares City Council. The marina will “officially” be open to receive tenants on June 1st.

The City has begun planning a “grand opening and ribbon-cutting” event to celebrate the completion of this signature project, to take place on the day of the previously planned Monster Splash, Seaplane Fly-In, and Rocktoberfest concert on October 16, 2021. More to follow as this celebratory and signature event is finalized.

The Seaplane Base/Marina offers ethanol-free 93 octane marine fuel and 100 octane low lead aviation fuel for sale at market prices.

The Seaplane Base/Marina also offers 80 slips available for monthly rental (20 Commercial and 60 non-commercial). Further information on boat slip rentals can be obtained by calling the Tavares Seaplane Base/Marina at 352-742-6267.
