Tavares' Adopt-A-Bench program provides for specially designed benches to be installed throughout City parks and other facilities. The one-of-a-kind look clearly conveys the theme of "America's Seaplane City, incorporating the city's logo in a very unique way.

Residents, businesses and organizations are invited to Adopt-A-Bench for placement in specific Tavares locations.  The bench will be inscribed with the donor's name or dedication and would be placed at a City park, facility or at Tavares Cemetery.

The cost $1,400 to adopt each bench.  This covers the manufacture and installation of the bench with commemorative plaque, as well as maintenance for the life of the bench.

Wording on the plaque is limited to 3 lines, 25 characters per line.  The City of Tavares reserves the right to reject any wording or sponsorship that may be deemed inappropriate for display in a public venue.

The life-cycle of the commercial grade metal powder coated bench is approximately 15 years.  At the end of this term the donor may choose to extend the adoption agreement with the City and have a new bench placed in the same location by paying the then current replacement value.
