Tavares Babe Ruth League
The City of Tavares offers youth baseball and softball for children ages 4-15 in both the spring and fall seasons. League play is held at both our Woodlea Sports Complex and Fred Stover Sports Complex; additional games are also held in neighboring communities.
REGISTRATION FEES:Fees for participation are $75 per child and birth certificates are required.
DATES FOR 2017 SPRING SEASON:
Registration for the 2017 season will begin on January 17, 2017 in the Tavares Recreation Department offices located at 123 N. St. Clair Abrams Avenue. You may also register on Saturday, January 21st and Saturday, January 28th from 9:00am - 12:00pm at Tavares City Hall located at 201 E. Main Street.
Games will start with our Opening Day Ceremony on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Fred Stover Sports Complex. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 am with games beginning at noon. the season will conclude with a Spring Fling Fun Day for all the kids and parents on Saturday, May 13th at Fred Stover Sports Complex.

Tavares Adult Co-Ed Kickball League
Are you looking for something as adults you can do that is fun, active, and where you can make new friends?
The Tavares Adult Co-Ed Kickball League is a wonderful opportunity to get out of the house, exercise and enjoy a game we all used to play as kids. Each team has between 9-20 players and games are played on Wednesday evenings at Woodlea Sports Complex. The deadline to register your team for our spring season is Friday, January 6. Games begin on January 11, 2017 and continue through March 1, 2017. Fees are $250 per team and include team prize packages with trophies and t-shirts for winning teams. An "end-of-season" competitive tournament will highlight the league during the last week of the season.

Tavares Junior Tennis League
The City of Tavares has partnered with DTennis to offer a junior tennis program for children ages 5-12. Classes are held on Mondays at the Aesop's Park Tennis Courts. Spring and Summer sessions are coming soon.
Tavares Annual Father - Daughter Dance
Dads, gather your girls and get ready for a memorable evening of elegance, fun, music and all the dancing you can handle. The City of Tavares is hosting the annual Father-Daughter Dance at the Tavares Pavilion on the Lake Thursday,
February 9, 2017. This year's theme is titled "Moonlight Masquerade" and sure to be a kid favorite.
Tickets are on sale at the Tavares Recreation Department located in downtown at 123 N. St. Clair Abrams Avenue for $10 per person. The event will run from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and include a "dress-up" photo station, raffle prizes and games.

Tavares Annual Mother - Son Night Out
Calling all MOMS with little boys at home….you are invited to attend the City of Tavares Annual Mother - Son Night Out on Thursday, May 11th at the Tavares Civic Center and Ridge Park (located behind the Public Library). Tickets are $10 per person and available through the Tavares Recreation Department located at 123 N. St. Clair Abrams Avenue.
The evening is themed "Game Night" and will begin promptly at 5:30pm with fun activities and games all around Ridge Park. A variety of decorated treats and snack food will be available for everyone to enjoy as moms and their sons get to test out their board game skills. Music and other fun contests will fill the evening until the event concludes at 8:30pm. As everyone leaves, each boy will receive a sparkling red rose to present to their mom!

Tavares Summer Camp
The City of Tavares Summer Camp is a day-camp, consisting of three separate sessions, each lasting 3-weeks during the summer months. Children must be between the ages of 5-10 years old (as of June 1st) in order to attend.
Camper drop-off will be at the Ingraham Center, located at 317 South Ingraham Avenue each day between 7:30am - 8:30am. All camp activities will begin promptly at 8:30am. Each session will be themed and action-packed with field trips, activities, special presenters and some amazing surprises. Camper pick-up will be at the center each day between 5:00pm - 5:30pm.
- Session I: Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 23
- Session II: Monday, June 26 through Friday, July 14
- Session III: Monday, July 17 through Friday, August 4
Registration for each session of camp begins on Monday,
April 17th at 8:00am at the Tavares Recreation Department located at 123 N. St. Clair Abrams Avenue.
NO REGISTRATION FEES!
Each session of camp is $240 per child for the three-week period. Full payment for each session is due the Wednesday prior to the session start.

Young at Heart Program
Designed for seniors with a "playful" attitude, the City of Tavares created the Young at Heart Program to offer our 55+ community a chance to gather around the table to enjoy classic board games, light refreshments, cards and old-fashion fellowship.
Held weekly on Tuesdays from 1:30pm - 3:30pm in the Tavares Civic Center (located behind the Tavares Public Library) during the months of October through April, the Young at Heart Program is open to anyone who wants to have a good time with lots of games, goodies and giggles at no charge.

Tavares Senior Shakedown
Please join the City of Tavares and our senior citizen community as we offer a fun, entertaining and energetic afternoon of dancing, karaoke, games and more! Held on the first Monday of each month starting in November, this event is free to attend and sure to bring a smile to your face.

Community Recreational Opportunities
The Big House Sports Complex
Located at 1544 Lane Park Cutoff Road in Tavares, the Big House offers a variety of competitive and recreational sports opportunities. From senior citizen days and adult nights, to before/after school care for your kids, there is something for everyone at the Big House.
The Big House features 9 maple wood basketball courts that convert into 16 volleyball courts for a variety of play. They offer youth and adult leagues, clinics, camps and open play for all ranges of skill level.

Tavares Youth Football League
The Tavares Youth Football League is a private, volunteer-based organization offering a football and cheerleading program for children ages 7-14. They strive to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, Tavares Youth Football (TYFL) programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives.
TYFL seeks to provide fun athletic learning opportunities for children, while emphasizing the importance of academic success. Specifically, TYFL seeks to familiarize players and spirit participants with the fundamentals of football. TYFL strives to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness.

Golden Triangle YMCA
The Golden Triangle YMCA is a local branch of the Central Florida YMCA.
